Forensic Services
Dr. Browning spent over a decade working as a forensic psychiatrist for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities. In his role as the Associate Clinical Director for Forensic Services, he treated serious mental illness; performed hundreds of forensic evaluations related to competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility; supervised other forensic psychiatrists; trained medical students, residents, and fellows; and provided courtroom testimony as an expert witness on issues related to the insanity defense, competency to stand trial, civil commitment, psychiatric medication, and recommendations for treatment in the community.
